TRCA Neighborhood News Park Cleanup and 2009 TRCA Scholarship Awardees

Please join us for the Earth Day Angel Park and Taylor Run Spring Cleanup
this Saturday from 9 am to Noon at the Angel Park Playground (flyer
attached).


   - Any level of participation is appreciated
   - Early bird coffee and donuts will be provided
   - Bring your work gloves and garden tools
   - Help maintain the natural beauty of the park and creek
   - Save trees from harmful ivies (English and Kudzu)
   - Meet new neighbors and catch up with old friends

In other news, congratulations to *Evan Metz* and *Jessica Raugitinane*!  Evan
and Jessica have been selected as the 2009 TRCA Scholarship awardees.  Each
student will receive a $1,000 scholarship to help them continue their
education.

Evan and Jessica were selected via an anonymous process by a committee from
the Scholarship Fund of Alexandria (SFA) based on academic record,
extracurricular activities, community service, and other attributes.

The TRCA scholarship is one of four sponsored by civic associations in
Alexandria . SFA will award over 200 scholarships valued at $359,000 to help
members of the T.C. Williams Class of 2009 continue their education.  For
