TRCA Neighborhood News: National Night Out

National Night Out, an annual event dedicated to crime and illicit drug use/abuse awareness and prevention in local communities, falls on Tuesday, August 5, 2008.  You can read more about it at http://www.nationaltownwatch.org/nno/. 
This year, the Taylor Run Citizens' Association (TRCA) is sponsoring a neighborhood event at Angel Park between 6:30-8:00 p.m. in support of the National Night Out message.  

Captain Clarke Stearns of the Alexandria Sheriff's Department will be with us and available for individual discussion about local crime issues generally.  We will also provide information about both the TRCA Public Safety Committee's recent efforts and a local group of TRCA neighbors who have worked diligently towards establishing a Neighborhood
Watch around E. Taylor Run.  Subject to availability, a fire engine will also be on site for the younger kids' enjoyment.  (A special thanks to neighbors Nadene Zuidema and Patty Donmoyer for their efforts in these regards!)

Sweetest of all, cake and beverages will be available to tempt you out into the muggy August eve.  Please join us for this fun, tasty and hopefully informative event.  See you at Angel Park!
