NIMS Training

At the NCAC Institute training on Saturday, October 22, Doug Lindsey, 
KB3HER did a couple of segments on the National Incident Management 
System (NIMS).  He mentioned the Department of Homeland Security has 
training and certification on-line.  The link is

Certification to IS100 and IS700 is becoming a requirement for 
participants, including hams, to have a role in emergency disaster 
work.  We are interested in getting the AMRAD van prepared to 
participate in these activities so certification of those of us working 
with the van should be looking at getting this certification.  Compared 
to the amateur radio exam, this is a much easier certification to get.  
The web based courses are recommended as the way to prepare for taking 
the on-line certification examination.
