I've been asked by several people where the final resting place of these
manuals will be.

www.tm.agilent.com will take you to the place. 

Just use the search box in the top right corner to search for the desired
equipment manual (eg.,  enter "3456A" in the search box. When approriate, a
disclaimer message will pop up if the equipment is obsolete, indicating that
these manuals are the limit of support now available for that equipment).

Meanwhile, there is now a new email contact point for David: Write to David at
manuals at agilent.com if you can offer copies of the manuals being sought.

{There is also an FTP site set up for transferring already-scanned manuals to
David. Contact David for username/password for that site, and for ftp address
details.}
