CA Regulators Ease BPL Regulation
The California Public Utilities Commission (PUC) is taking what it calls an 
"unusual step" of setting rules for broadband over powerline (BPL) 
deployments, even though so far there are no BPL deployments and only a 
couple of current tests are underway in the state. The new rules, which the 
PUC wants to have in place by the end of the year, will largely free BPL 
from the lengthy review and approval process needed whenever power 
companies lease their poles and lines.
