WinXP and teh Serial Port

Many of us Ham Operators have (rightly) deplored that WinXP no longer 
allows control of the outside world via the computer's serial port.
However, loading

    "directIO.exe "

available from:
    http://www.powerbasic.com/files/pub/tools/win32/

will restore this capability.
