TRCA Neighborhood News: Tutors Needed for MacArthur Students

Taylor Run Neighbors.  MacArthur elementary is seeking
tutors to help students succeed.  Please read the
message below.

Dear Friends of MacArthur,

I am writing to you because in the past you have
tutored or said that you might be interested.  If I
have reached you in error or you'd like to be removed
from the list, please tell me.

This year MacArthur Elementary will again have
students who need help with school work.  Last year
about 60-70 students received tutoring, but more could
have really benefited from assistance.  I hope you
will have some time this year.  On October 2, I will
be getting the list of children from teachers and
trying to match children with tutors.  

Most tutoring is during school hours from 8:15 am to
2:45 pm.  However, some students go to aftercare
(3:00-6:00 pm) and could be taught then.  Tutors meet
with one student at a time for about 20-45 minutes
once a week.  We will begin the second week of
October, I hope.  Tutoring can start later in the
year, if that suits your schedule.  

If you have already handed in a blue sign-up form this
month, you don’t need to repeat the information.  If
not, please tell me any scheduling, grade or subjects
you prefer.  If you know any friends, relatives or
neighbors who might be interested in tutoring, please
pass along this email or have them call me.  I really
enjoy tutoring and hope you will too.
