Both my Toshiba Satellite Pro 425 and IBM ThinkPad 1452 have full duplex 
stereo sound cards.  You can tell if it is full duplex when Spectran 
outputs audio when the volume is turned up on the left side.

Laptops are so much more portable so I agree.

Yes, and therefore good for operating next to an LF receiver.

If we can get similar performance for the PC software we don't have to 
add another box and its expense.  That is why I was so impressed with 
Hamview on my second look last night.  I had forgotten how good it was.  
Alberto and Vittorio speak about adding this feature to Spectran.  I am 
salivating over the possibilities.
