I did a couple APRS installs this week, and found out that from the trunk
of both cars, you can slide the GPS antenna up through the back deck metal
and under the back deck cardboard near the base of the rear window. This
affords an invisible inside GPS antenna installation. The antenna
apparently sees the sky just fine, as they were working well inside the
garage. Both antennas were mag mount patches, but wouldn't need to be
magnetically attached, as the deck material holds the antennas quite
firmly.

Just thought you would like to know. I was half tempted to drive the 2
meter 1/4 wave whip up through that material, and keep it just inside the
back window as well, but it is still an external mag mount antenna. The
TX antenna is in need of a real mount, probably off the trunk hinge.
