Steve,
These guys are very serious. There were 15 different bidders involved in
the bidding and only one looked suspicious (the guy with the
sunglasses). I hope the high bidder has a bank account to match his
bid. Apparently the turquoise color is rare and worth big bucks.
I'd rather take the chassis out of that fancy case and hack it into an "All
American Five" AC/DC LF transmitter/receiver, although G. Gorden Liddy
might sound pretty nice on it just as is. The radio kinda looks like a
prop from an old FBI movie.
That Catalan case might work as a base insulator for an LF antenna if you
were to cut it up properly.
