Hi,

As many of you are aware, several of us in AMRAD have been working on an
active antenna for LF. That project has produced a design that we think
can be built by the Radio Amateur or LOWFer in his home workshop with
ordinary hand tools. We have arranged for PC boards to be made available
from FAR circuits to simplify construction.

A construction article is scheduled to appear in the September issue of
QST. We have added a new AMRAD LF Active Antenna web page to our LF web
page with a sneak preview of that article as some of you have been asking
for more information. We will add more information we have. QST ended up
giving us a whole lot of space but as always, there is still more... file
folders more.

You can see our new AMRAD LF Active Antenna page linked off of our LF web
page at <http://www.amrad.org/projects/lf/>.

In addition, we have permission to post the technical manual for the Cubic
R-3030 from the fine folks at Cubic <http://www.cubic.com/cci/index.html>.
The R-3030 goes from 5 kHz to 30 MHz and works really great down at VLF and
LF. It is available on our web site for download and is almost 6 megs in
size. It is worth the download just to study their design. They do show
up at hamfests so keep your eyes open.

Frank
