LF Gang,
I sent the two Spectran files recorded by Richard Goodman WA3USG to
Geri Kinzel DK8KW, and herebelow is Geri's answer

It's difficult to judge, but for me it looks like a stable carrier,
maybe the slighty highlighted areas of that signal show the data
bursts of
DCF39, however, that is just speculation. The other carriers look like
Loran-lines.

Is there any possibility to have someone record a WAV file so that I
could analyze the signal myself with Spectran or Spectrogram? It might
be
helpful to get a WAV file of the carrier frequency (138.830 kHz) and
the mark
frequency (139.300) so that we can see if there are any data busts
that can be identified. Or, it might be nice to have a file with
slightly large
bandwidt (500 Hz) and have both freqencies recorded in one single
file. If the signal is really close to audible detection, it should be
possible
to filter these two frequencies from the original file.

We should ask the guys running that transmitter to switch to Slow-CW
...

btw: there is some information about that transmitter and what it does
on http://www.efr.de, unfortunately only in German.

Best regards

Geri, DK8KW (W1KW)
