hello Frank,I doubt that what you are listening to is our beacon. We transmit
morse code, at 5 wpm on 136.745.  We will soon turn on again our other beacon,
wa2xtf/6 on 136.750  (also CW at 5 wpm)  You should then be able to differentiate
both on your computer screen, if you use a good dsp program.What you may be
hearing could be a very powerful Navy Tx in California (I believe on 137) which
run RTTY or something. I believe Cliff Buttschardt (whom I have cc. on this
message) and who lives in California, may be able to throw some light on this
subject.
