HI,
Several (David, Shannon, etc.) have mentioned interest in making an iron
powder stick for LF receiving antennas. Here are some URLs.
<http://www.reade.com/Products/Elements/carbonyl_iron.html>
I sent an Email and never heard a thing. Somebody try a phone call to a
human.
<http://www.basf.com/businesses/chemicals/inorganics/products.html>
<http://www.epma.com/process/powder.html> Talks about the process but
says the fine iron powder is used for molding processes. Maybe they know
about the RF application.
The powder I have came from GAF. A web search turns up GAF as a roofing
material company and I see no referance to things like chemicals like
powdered iron. A phone call might find they sold this division off to
someone else. Try <http://www.gaf.com/> for starters.
Try some web searches with variations on "carbonyl iron" which is what I
used.
