Not that I want to get in the middle of this.... Here is what I rcvd from KC0PON@rf.org..... There are several D-Star radios in the area. There are also several DV-Dongles. There was a show of hands at the July 21, CARC meeting. ICOM has done a pretty good job of giving them away, or people in this area are just lucky, as two of us got them in ICOM give-a-ways. Gregg Lind made a presentation on D-Star and made a request that a D-Star repeater be added to the CARC budget for next year. I had made a similar presentation earlier in the year to CVARC After the meeting in the parking lot I demonstrated D-Star in the simplex mode from my ID91AD to my 880H. There was also a 2820 in the parking lot. I have documented in the CVARC newsletter that the proposed DStar simplex frequency be 145.670 in the Cedar Rapids area until a repeater becomes available. I usually monitor this on the way to work from 7:30 to 8:00. I have hooked up with KC0ONY a couple times. Dennis Sutherland
