I think this is an excellent suggestion to further publicize the list.
If you don't have the subscription information, I'll post it again here
for everyone's benefit and future reference.

Best way to generate activity for the list would be to publicize it. Being one of the more active APRS users in the area for the past couple years, I didn't even know there was a local APRS email list.

We've had several discussions on APRS and it's uses in ARES meetings and are starting to utilize it on the public service events, so interest is high in APRS. We have been working on getting APRS coverage throughout the entire county: over the past year or so we've had 5 WIDE1-1 fill-in digipeaters put up full time (KC0ALC-1, N0AGL-3, KD0HF-1, K0ECW-1 and WB0CID-1), 2 full time I-Gates (K0ECW-1, KD0PCP with N0GUD and W0IM also having the capability), I am working on having pertinent weather warnings transmitted via RF APRS and almost always have an RF APRS feed up when I'm sitting at a computer, connecting to my I-gate/router through the Internet.

If you haven't heard about it yet, there is a relatively new APRS client program that is in active development that has the real potential to become the standard for APRS client programs. That program is APRSIS32 or APRSISCE depending on what platform you use, by Lynn KJ4ERJ. It is what we are using in LCARES for PC APRS operation.

Anyway, I think resurrecting the list would be a good idea and I know probably at least a dozen or so people that would sign up for it. I can send an email to the LCARES and CVARC reflectors letting people know how to sign up too.

We wanted to re-spark the list I just got a new aprs radio the FTM-350. And I got a voice alert with Ken so I was wondering if we could get some more interest in APRS again.

Posting from the CRAPRS mailing list:

It looks like it is still working, but has fallen into disuse.
Maybe someone has a good idea on how to generate some activity
and post it here.
