>Was it stand alone, or through your PC?
It was A PC. I have a PC running UI-view, and a D700, it was set as a
listen only Igate on 144.990 simplex. If people wanted to do QRP stuff on
144.99, I might be convinced to put it back on the air as a QRP Igate in
Hiawatha, dumping everything it hears on to the internet.

This is part of my go kit, I have actually used APRS & a D700 on a ARES
activity, they were impressed with street level maps, and having voice on
the same radio, but I haven't had as many chances to setup this stuff
lately. Kind of setting it up to see if it still works was part of my
test.

I have also figured out how to setup this system as a digipeater like you
described, but I have also found the problem you were talking about, if
you hear traffic to digipeat onto a different frequency, you have no good
way to verify you are not stomping on somebody else on the transmit
frequency. I do not want to incur the wrath of other APRS users of the
main frequency. :-}
