Alaska Vacation Photos

Recently, I spent two weeks on Alaska on a wonderful vacation.   I discovered that, in Alaska, you run out of two things very quickly:  you run out of words to describe it, and film to photograph it.  If you're looking for a place to vacation next summer, I strongly recommend Alaska.

I took over six hundred pictures.  When you take six hundred pictures, you don't get them all custom printed immediately.  You have cheap proof prints made and then sort out the good ones.  So, right now, I'm busy sorting six hundred proofs.

Here, to whet your appetite, I present just a few pictures which came to be on the net by scanning the proof prints in on a flat-bed scanner.  So, they're not very good.  I'm in the process of scanning these and some others in on a very good scanner that scans the negatives directly at 3500 DPI.  But, the resulting file then has to be hand color-corrected.  I'm still learning this whole process.  So, I hope to have those pictures up soon.  In the mean time, you'll have to be content with these.
