When I started this ride I didn't think I'd be going to Manassas. But you never know, do you? This ride took place on Saturday, July 6th 1996. I got a new front tire just before this ride. The old one was a 700x25C size, the new one 700x23C. The odometer calibration with the old tire I thought was pretty good. It has yet to be determined how the much change has occurred.

OK. Post ride review of the better maps reveals the following: 1) I probably should have gotten to Lignum at mile 55 if I hadn't had the detours on Rt. 15 in Orange and the trip to Mitchells. 2) Next time I turn Right at Jennings, then through Edwards Shop to see if a) there isn't gravel, and b) there's a store to get food before crossing Kellys Ford (I hadn't seen a store since Orange). 3) A right on Summerduck Rd, through Morrisville would get me to Elk Run at about the 70 mile mark, Sowego at about 78 miles. Sowego is about 27 miles from Occoquan following Steve Smith's DC->Fredericksburg route That makes a 125 mile Charlottesville<->Alexandria trip.
